Sardegna is a tropical island in Italy famous all over the world for its white sand, turquoise waters and granite coast lines. Featuring some unique, wild and rugged landscapes, Its one of the most expensive summer destination in the world.
The political administration did an excellent job protecting the natural beauty of the territory and their delicate ecosystem. For this reason the coast has not been over built and maintains visually a wild feel. Sardinia is a once in a lifetime destination to experience especially if you are a Sea and sail lover.
The north east part, "the Costa Smeralda" is the most expensive part and arguably the most beautiful. Very picturesque is the Maddalena Islands that are reachable by a short boat ride. It's recommended hiring a boat and check this beautiful part of the world. Equally unique is the town of Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo. Also worth mentioning the towns of Santa Teresa di Gallura, Palau, Golfo Aranci and Olbia, the biggest town.
The east cost has what many reckon is the best beach in the world, Cala Goritze' in the Baunei area reachable by a hike or by boat.
South of Sardinia, Cagliari is the capital and Villasimius is stunning and worth visiting. Here you will find the best beaches in south and the hikes with the most breath-taking views over the sea.
To the east side Alghero is the best town featuring colourful houses and vibrant lifestyle. To the west Castelsardo's town is worth a mention.
